The Yellowstone, Gallatin, Madison and Jefferson Rivers are available for guided trips. Each day will start at a designated time and location that will be discussed before the start of the trip. The Missouri River is available as an option for an additional $100. Each trip includes lunches, rods and reels, lines, flies and transportation to and from the river. Lodging, guide gratuity (20% of total trip is recommended), waders and boots (when required), and rod fees are not included in the price for each guided trip. Payment for each day is required previous to each day on the water and a deposit of $200/day and per boat is mandatory to reserve your day or days on the water. Payments can be made by Venmo or check made out to RF Bar Outfitters.
Your guide has the right to cancel the trip 12 hours before the trip is scheduled to go out due to weather and will contact you. If your trip is canceled due to weather a full refund will be credited to you. Cancelations by clients within 30 days of your trip or no shows will result in the forfeiture of your deposit. Cancelations prior to 30 days or longer can be rescheduled to a new date or a full refund can be issued. In the event of family emergencies and health emergencies, cancelation refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis. We at RF Bar Outfitters will strive to give you the best possible experience on the water whether you are a beginner or more experienced fly caster and look forward to taking you out on the river or pond.
Weather in Montana can be variable. Bringing appropriate layering for the weather conditions will help make your trip more enjoyable. Having extra layers and gloves for the spring and fall will help you stay warm. Sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, and a water proof coat is a must have for all seasons in Montana. Even in the summer, thunderstorms will cause the temperature to drop 20 degrees. You are more than welcome to bring your own rod and reel, but your guide will have all the flies and tippet that you will need.
Grant was raised on a farm in North Central Montana, near the Canadian border where he spent most of my free time hunting and fishing. Upon graduating high school, he enrolled at Montana State University where his passion for fly fishing took off after completing a class on fly fishing. Grant has been guiding in Montana since 2013 and spent one season in Alaska. He enjoys taking all ability levels out and teaching all new techniques to improve their fishing.
